About The Sussex County Weather Network

The Sussex County Weather Network, LLC is a Sussex County based company who has
developed a network of remote Weather Stations and Traffic/Weather Cameras strategically
located throughout Sussex County, New Jersey.

Founded and developed by Wantage friends Mike Mendiburu and Nick Stefano, both men
saw  the need to provide the county with this much-needed service.

Because of the elevation disparities in the county, winter weather can be a real adventure
during storms. The all important rain/snow line, winds, frosts, etc., can now be monitored
 much more closely than before.

For years, Sussex County has been left out in the cold, so to speak. The only weather reports
were  from "nearby" Morristown Airport. The news media "estimates" temperatures from our
area. This is not indicative of our often-changing weather conditions.

Since 63% of the work force in Sussex County commute out of the county, our Traffic
Cameras will provide commuters, weather forecasters, road departments, Schools, and
everyone that needs to travel a visual of real-time road conditions.

Remote Data Retreival

With the advent of the Internet, anyone who has Internet access can now retrieve such
information as real-time Weather, Traffic, Forecasts, School information, and even
School Closings with the click of a mouse.

This data is made available for FREE 24 hours a day 7 days a week by local businesses who
sponsor the pages. Weather data is updated as often as six times an hour and Traffic Cameras
every three minutes during heavily traveled times of the day.

Importance of the Network

Much of New Jersey's most destructive or least predictable weather occurs on a local level.
The Sussex County Traffic and Weather Network provides weather forecasters and emergency
management with more densely spaced information to aid in making decisions. Improved
access to environmental information has been shown to save lives and property.

Professionals in business, industry, agriculture, construction, and recreation would benefit greatly
from this information. Pest management, construction, transportation, and agriculture officials
would have access to this reliable data. The results would save time and money on scheduling,
plowing roads, irrigation, spraying, etc. Recreation and utility officials could use real-time weather
data and climate data to anticipate and determine the extent of weather sensitive situations
(i.e. flooding rains, ice storms and snowstorms that cause power outages).

Blizzards

The Sussex County Traffic and Weather Network provides a unique and powerful learning
opportunity  for public and private schools in our county for FREE. Interactive learning activities
using our information can range from science and mathematics to economics and communications.

Because of the Internet, now you are able to visit one real-time environmental monitoring
network  with data available through one centralized location for our county.

The Sussex County Traffic and Weather Network already provides access to approximately
18 real-time local weather sites throughout the county. 18 Traffic/Weather Cameras are
scheduled for deployment

These benefits will only increase as we continue to grow the network. The more "eyes and ears"
working  to monitor the Weather and Traffic of our county, the more benefits to everyone!

Support and Sponsorship

Maintenance of the equipment, constant programming, phone lines, Internet access and hosting,
repairs  and expansion are all ongoing expenses.

Our Internet site is extremely popular and is expanding rapidly. Sponsorship of our network
will give your company or business maximum exposure. We ask that you consider supporting
this much, needed network by advertising with us. Visibility of your ad will
always be displayed.
